Greetings to all.....What a great year last year.
After all was said and done, we did not end up in
the red. Not enough to increase prize money yet but after this year, the future looks promising. The Freeport Host Lions Club
worked really hard to continue the Fishin' Fiesta and i think a great time was had by all.
This year we have partnered with Texas Parks and Wildlife to bring in the Coastal Expo. Right now, it
looks like we will have somewhere between 25 and 30 exhibits for all to enjoy.
There is too much for me to mention all thats in line for this years Fishin' Fiesta, but, get ready for a
Fishin' Fiesta that you will not soon forget. Your Freeport Host Lions Club has outdone their selves this year and there will
be something for everyone. New sponsors on board. New bands. New vendors.
We hope for good weather and great fishin'. We will have live entertainment all 5 days. Do not forget to attend
the Saturday night fireworks display. Bring your boats to the end of the river for a memorable evening.
We strive to continue to make the fiesta bigger and better every year. Make sure to tell your friends, families,
and all to come out and register to fish so we can increase prizes and money next year. Please be sure and visit our web site
at www.fishinfiesta.com for current information.
Leave us your comments and suggestions on ways to enhance the fiesta in the future. Remember. This is a family
event and we plan to pack the park with kids of all ages. Thanks to all the Lions Club members for all their hard work and
also to the Jaycees that helped us last year with the weigh in station.
Special thanks to Troy Brimmage for getting some of us certified so we can continue the great tradition that
the jaycees started 60 years ago.
We would like to remind everyone to pick up a brochure at one of the many registrations stations and see all
of the sponsors that make this Fiesta possible. Without them, the Fiesta would not exist. Please patronize them whenever possible.
We love our sponsors.
And last of all, remember, we must not loose site of why our Lions Club is working so hard to make this a
very successful event. First and foremost, eye exams and eye glasses for the under privileged school children in our schools
and scholarships and many other worthwhile projects.
Thanks to all for your participation and we look forward to seeing all of you at the 60th annual Freeport
Host Lions Club Fishin' Fiesta.
Keep a tight line and a wet hook!
